Externally owned account
An Ethereum account whose transactions are authorized by a private key, often abbreviated EOA.
In more detail
An EOA is the account type people usually start with when creating an Ethereum wallet. Its key authorizes transactions and its nonce keeps them in order. Modern code-delegation mechanisms can add programmable behavior, so the old shortcut that every EOA must always have no code is no longer a complete description.
How you might use it
A wallet’s key signs a transfer from your EOA; the receiving contract then follows its own code when that transaction calls it.
